Connecticut 14 days before an election 6 am - 8 pm All voters - photo and non-photo ID accepted Each elector who registered to vote by mail for the first time on or after January 1, 2003, and has a "mark" next to the elector's name on the official registry list, shall present either a current and valid photo ID that shows the elector's name and address or a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other government document that shows the name and address of the elector.   Each other elector shall present to the checkers the elector's Social Security card or any other preprinted form of identification which shows the elector's name and either the elector's address, signature or photograph, or on a form prescribed by the Secretary of the State, write the elector's residential address and date of birth, print the elector's name and sign a statement under penalty of false statement that the elector is the elector whose name appears on the official checklist. Such form shall clearly state the penalty of false statement.

Florida 29 days before an election 7 am - 7 pm All voters - photo ID only accepted. Voters without photo ID will cast a provisional ballot. Approved forms of picture identification are: Florida driver's license; Florida identification card issued by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles; United States passport; employee badge or identification; buyer's club identification; debit or credit card; military identification; student identification; retirement center identification; neighborhood association identification; and public assistance identification. If the picture identification does not contain a signature, you will be asked to provide an additional identification with your signature. If you do not have the proper identification you will be required to vote a provisional ballot.

Georgia 5th Monday before an election 7 am - 7 pm Law signed requiring all voters to show photo ID.  July 2006, U.S. District Court Judge Harold Murphy ruled against enforcement of this law. A Georgia driver’s license which was properly issued by the appropriate state agency; A valid identification card issued by a branch, department, agency, or entity of the State of Georgia, any other state, or the United States authorized by law to issue personal identification, provided that such identification card contains a photograph of the elector; A valid United States passport; A valid employee identification card containing a photograph of the elector and issued by any branch, department, agency, or entity of the United States government, this state, or any county, municipality, board, authority, or other entity of this state; A valid United States military identification card;, provided that such identification card contains a photograph of the elector; or a valid tribal identification card containing a photograph of the elector.

Hawaii 30 days before an election 7 am - 6 pm All voters - photo ID requested. Picture ID with a signature on it for verification of your identity. Voter will be asked to sign a poll book to record that the voter voted at that polling place. A voter registration notice is not an acceptable form of identification.

Indiana 29 days before an election 6 am - 6 pm All voters - photo ID only accepted. Voters without photo ID will cast a provisional ballot.   Acceptable photo ID must meet 4 criteria. It must: Display the voter's photo; Display the voter's name, and the name must conform with the voter registration record; Display an expiration date and either be current or have expired sometime after the date of the last General Election (November 2, 2004); Be issued by the State of Indiana or the U.S. government. In most cases, an Indiana driver's license, Indiana photo ID card, US Passport, or Military ID is sufficient. A student ID from an Indiana State school may only be used if it meets all of the 4 criteria specified above. A student ID from a private institution may not be used for voting purposes. Exemptions do exist for the indigent, those with a religious objection to being photographed, and those living in state-licensed facilities that serve as their precinct's polling place. If you are unable or unwilling to present photo ID on Election Day, you may cast a provisional ballot. Upon casting a provisional ballot, you have until noon 10 days after the election to follow up with the County Election Board and either provide photo ID or affirm one of the law's exemptions applies to you.

Driver's license, a Louisiana Special ID, or some other generally recognized picture ID. Voters who have no picture ID and bring only a utility bill, payroll check or government document that includes their name and address will have to sign an affidavit furnished by the Elections Division in order to vote.

Minnesota 20 days before an election; Election Day registration available 7 am - 8 pm First-time voters who register by mail and do not provide ID verifica- tion with registration application - photo and non-photo ID accepted  A driver's license or Minnesota identification card; showing any document approved by the secretary of state  as proper identification;  showing one of the following: a current valid student ID card from a  postsecondary educational institution in Minnesota; a current student fee statement that contains the  student's valid address in the precinct together with a picture identification card; having a voter who is registered to vote in the precinct sign an oath in the presence of the election judge vouching that the voter personally knows that the individual is a resident of the precinct; for tribal band members living on an Indian reservation, an individual may prove residence for purposes of  registering by showing an identification card issued by the tribal government of a tribe recognized by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, United States Department of the Interior, that contains the name, street address, signature, and picture of the individual.

Missouri 4th Wednesday prior to an election 6 am - 7 pm All voters - photo ID only accepted. Voters without photo ID will cast a provisional ballot. This law goes into effect in the Nov. 2006 general election. Missouri Driver's License,  Missouri Non-Driver's License,
U.S. passport and military ID. In the November 2006 election, if you do not have a valid photo ID you will only be able to cast a provisional ballot, which may or may not be counted. (In 2008 and beyond, you will not be able to cast a provisional ballot unless you meet some specific criteria.)
